You wouldn't ask a chef to cook in a living room, or a mechanic to fix a car in a kitchen. So - Why ask an accountant to keep the books in a salesperson's worksetting? Unique functions require unique work environments. To determine how and where a person should sit, take into consideration what functions that person is performing and who they need to interact with to perform efficiently. Consider: * Does the employee work in a group or alone? * If both, what percentage of time is spent doing which? * What percentage of the employee's group work is spent analyzing and creating verses processing data? * What percentage of the employee's individual work is spent analyzing and creating verses processing data? These and other factors will make a major difference in what type of worksetting a person needs. A person who spends a lot of time working alone processing data doesn't need much work surface or conference space compared to someone who spends a lot of time working within a team analyzing data. Everyone wants efficiency out of employees. The chef is most efficient in a kitchen, a mechanic in a garage...and an accountant in an accounting focused work environment. Color-Art has tools to help identify the needs of employees. We call it Mapping. By providing a map of your corporation based on Organization Profile, Department Profiles, and Job Function Profiles, we can assist in seeing that you're employees are able to perform efficiently and effectively. |
